Foundation VAKNIN-RANGELOVSKA with excellence in the field of psychology, economics and physics, is a humanitarian is a non-profit organisation which performs activities for the promotion and support of education, science and the community.

The foundation is awarding 3 scholarships annually to students/scientists in the following fields: Physics, Economics and Psychology.

Our aim is to promote the study of Sam Vaknin’s intellectual legacy in three fields: psychology (including Lidija Rangelovska’s contributions), economics, and physics (including the philosophy of science).

To this end, each year, we will be distributing three scholarships of 5000 euros each.

The Vaknin-Rangelovska Foundation is committed to promoting excellence in three fields of scientific endeavor: physics, economics, and psychology.

The Foundation distributes 3 annual scholarships of 5000 euros each to post-doctoral students and scholars in these areas of study worldwide.
The scholarships are intended to encourage the continued study and development of the Founders’ work in physics, economics, and psychology.

Shmuel (“Sam”) Vaknin and his wife and publisher, Lidija Rangelovska, established the Foundation in 2023 with the aim of distributing the first scholarships in 2025.

What is a VRF scholarhsip?

The Vaknin-Rangelovska Foundation distributes 3 annual scholaships of 5000 euros each in the fields of economics, psychology, and physics (including philosophy of science).

The scholarships are intended to facilitate further research into Sam Vaknin’s works in all three fields.

Can I submit more than one application for a scholarship?

Not in the same year and in the same subject. But you are free to submit an application every year and you are welcome to submit applications in multiple fields of study even in the same year.

What is the timetable for the application for a scholarship?

Applications must be submitted no later than October 30 in the year preceding the year in which the scholarships are announced and distributed.

Winners will be announced no later than February 28 and the scholarships will be granted in a public ceremony on April 21 of the year subsequent to the year of the application.

How do I qualify for a scholarship?

To qualify to compete for one of our scholarships, you need to hold a PhD in the field in which you apply.
You also need to submit an annual research plan (a PDF file with PPT and Excel attachments, if required) with deadlines for each of its phases.

The scholarships money is dispensed in instalments subject to completion of each and every phase of your research program.

I do not live in North Macedonia, nor am I a Macedonian citizen. Can I apply?

Yes. Scholarhips are available to all applicants regarding of citizenship or residence.

Do I have to pay an application fee?

No. There are no expenses involved in your application. Just follow the application process on our website.
