What is a VRF scholarhsip?

The Vaknin-Rangelovska Foundation distributes 3 annual scholarships/grants of 5000 euros each in the fields of economics, psychology, and physics (including the philosophy of science).

The scholarships/grants are intended to facilitate further research into Sam Vaknin’s works in all three fields. For more, read the tab titled “How Do I Qualify for a Scholarship”.

Can I submit more than one application for a scholarship?

Not in the same year and in the same subject. But you are free to submit an application every year and you are welcome to submit applications in multiple fields of study even in the same year.

What is the timetable for the application for a scholarship?

Applications must be submitted no later than October 30 in the year preceding the year in which the scholarships/grants are announced and distributed.

Winners will be announced no later than February 28 and the scholarships/grants will be granted in a public ceremony on April 21 or on December 3 of the year subsequent to the year of the application.

The year 2025 is an exception:

Applications must be submitted no later than June 30, 2025.

Winners will be announced no later than October 30, 2025 and the scholarships/grants will be awarded in a public ceremony December 3, 2025.

How do I qualify for a scholarship?

Get yourself acquainted with Sam Vaknin’s work in the fields of physics, psychology, and economics by following the links on this website.

To qualify to compete for one of our scholarships, you need to hold a PhD in the field in which you apply.

The scholarship/grant is intended to help you to further develop Sam Vaknin’s work in the field relevant to your education.

You would need to submit an annual research plan: an outline of an academic article, research, study, or book (a PDF file with PPT and Excel attachments, if required) with deadlines for each one of the phases right through to the delivery or publication of your finished project.

The scholarship/grant money will be disbursed in instalments subject to the completion of each and every phase of your research program.

I do not live in North Macedonia, nor am I a Macedonian citizen. Can I apply?

Yes. Scholarhips are available to all applicants regarding of citizenship or residence.

Do I have to pay an application fee?

No. There are no expenses involved in your application. Just follow the application process on our website.

I have submitted my application, but I have discovered an error. Do I have to submit a new application?

Yes. Apologies for the inconvenience. We are doing our best to streamline your experience.
